Who do you use for liability insurance on ranch land with no buildings or structures? What's the going rate for 130 acres?

This is one we just signed up with. We've got 160 acres and it's a 1 million dollar policy with 2 million agregate. and for the year from August first to August first it cost us $240 total. They go by how many acres. http://www.outdoorsinsurance.com/Buckmasters also has pretty much the same policy but all lease members must be members or join if they are not. Theirs was $333. You can probably beat that, but we had to move fast and try to close the deal as we got a good price on the lease.

Thanks for the info. But.... my bad, I wasn't very clear. I'm looking for someone to insure land I own, not lease. Allstate won't do it because it's "vacant land". Anyone use Farm Bureau?

Might check with the company that handles your homeowners insurance. I was told I am covered as long as I don't have cattle on the place. Doesn't make sense to me but they were very clear in what they said.

Maybe your insurers are vegetarians- just kidding
Actually, I have homeowners, motorcycle, and car with Allstate but they won't do land with no improvements. I'm just looking for liability for right now since I don't have a barn or house out there yet....

My wife is the Farm Bureau agent in childress co. She has all of our ranch and farm liability insurance, she's not here right now or i would ask her the rate. The number to the office is 940-937-6151. I know she could help you and she was a bounch cheaper than state farm and stamford when i checked my insurance.
