With the increasing price for feed I was wondering if anybody has shopped a tow behind feeder that blows protein/corn into feeders... what prices were you seeing?

Are there any models that are problematic or ones that are simply the best? Seems like higher HP honda mowers would logically work better and last longer.


Lastly, has anybody priced bins? We have some bins but they need some TLC so their TLC cost is certainly relative to the cost of new bins.

I purchased a scaled-down version (smaller so I could pull with my mule and get to feeders that are not accessible by truck) of their feeder trailer and an overhead bin. Their prices were considerably lower that the larger name brand feed trailer makers - and their bin prices were dramatically lower.

The owner answers his own phone and if he in in the manufacturing facility - he returns calls. His sons deliver the equipment.

The trailer that I had built holds 1500lbs (special purpose for weight reduction and manuverability, as I stated). Their regular trailer holds 3500lbs, as I recall.

In my area, I can save approximately 30% by going bulk - with 15,000lbs of corn in feeders at any given time, the savings add up - not to mention the labor savings, as I am a one-man-show.

I could fill all 20 feeders on the place in a day, if I had to - could never do that by hauling 7 pallets of bagged corn, by myself.

We have a 3 ton TWS feed jet. Pain in the azz to drag to town, snake backwards under the hopper at the feed store and drag back to the ranch then tote with a full sized truck to all the feeders. Turns a two hour activity (loading by hand) into a six hour ordeal all to save $30/ton. Takes a while to pay for a $10k trailer at $30 a ton.

I have an All Seasons one on order. Mine's not a big place, but too am a 1 man show. My back won't handle the bags anymore.
