I have a lot of regrets but quite possibly my biggest is not serving in the military. I graduated high school in 1974, shortly after the conclusion of the Vietnam War, so interest in military service was not high on the list. I had cousins strongly encourage me to enlist in the reserves but I didn't. I regret it very much.

What aspect of Military Life do you feel you missed out on?

I paid for an abortion in high-school. Wasn't my kid or my girlfriend, just a buddy of mine. She backed out and the boy is 24 now. She never paid me back.

Quitting college.

Staying in the states after graduating high school and not going overseas with my uncle to start an apprenticeship as a PH in Africa. I cant complain really though, life has been REALLY good to me

Not taking other job opportunities when they were presented in the past.

Feel stuck as heck here after 13 years. Gone about as far as this position will allow and there isn't anything higher. There may be "plenty of jobs out there" - but most are low wage jobs. Been heck trying to find something new the past year.

Wish I would’ve enlisted in the military before going to college.

Teacher and coach for 4yrs and I gave it up for business opportunities which turned out very well but I loved teaching in classroom and on the football field

Getting married.

Hate to say it, but spending too much time in the military.

I would have grown up quicker. I would have become more disciplined at a younger age. I also have huge appreciation for those willing to put in the uniform of this country. It’s a noble commitment I failed to make out of immaturity.

I wanted to become a military pilot and then on to a commercial airlines pilot. I got my pilot's license when I was a senior
in high school. When I was a freshman in college, I went to join the ROTC with the intent of becoming an Army pilot. This
was in 1969 and at the height of the Vietnam war. they were taking anybody who would join. They made me go take a physical.
I failed because as a young child I had Polio and have one foot just slightly deformed.
So they said I was out of ROTC. I said no problem I'll just go join the Air Force. They said I didn't understand,
Your 4-F, you can't be in the military.
So, my dreams of becoming a airline pilot went away, because at that time they were only hiring ex-military as pilots.

I don't regret any of my many mistakes. They led me to the very happy life I currently live. I do hope that my son will listen to me when I tell him about my mistakes and how to avoid making the same ones.

None, I did it my way..........

Nothing really. Not that I never made a bad decision, it's just that even bad ones can be learned from or have a silver lining. I've always lived by the mantra that 2nd guessing yourself is a bad trait. Good leaders make a decision and move forward, and adjust if needed.

All kinds of regrets, but things have always worked out for the best..... in the end. I have nothing to complain about.

Not marring a rich woman.

Same as Normal , unfortunately if I’m honest my biggest regret is getting married. Otherwise pretty pleased with my career and life choices

Not learning to fly...
And not signing, an acting contract...

Not finishing all my rating and continuing to fly, but really that just means I’d probably worked longer, as I wouldn’t be so eager to be done working

2 regrets, both concerning my Mom. First one was getting worked up and yelling at her on what would turn out to be her last Mother's Day and a few months after that not staying at her bedside when she was in Hospice at the nursing home. Mom was under sedation. My Sister, BIL, wife and I were there, and wife and I started arguing so I left to go home. Wife called me when I was about 30 min away saying Mom was passing. I must have raced at 120 mpg to get back, but it was too late...she died a few minutes before I got there. I will carry that guilt to my grave. Thank God my wife was there with her. Mom adored my wife.

Understand. All good reasons of course.

Getting a DWI and it really holding me back for a couple years, I can relate to FamousAmos!
