How many people have paid more than $100 for a day hunt for dove? Or would pay that to hunt?

I've paid close to that... I'm near Houston and go tired of paying $75 to hunt in Katy and see nothing flying but dragonflies... I'd rather take a weekend trip and pay a little more to see some birds...

i just seen one on here for $125 for a day. that is $8.33 a bird if you do limited out. I thought that was crazy, but i guess people do pay for that if they have it for that.

Been lucky, I have never spent a dime in hunting any kind of bird.

But IMO, anything over $100 is crazy when it comes to day dove hunts.

Have you taken the time to figure out how much deer cost a pound during season? Taking in consideration everything spent just to get a deer.

Then this will absolutely knock your lights out!! I have a cousin that gets................you ready for this?? $675.00 p/man for a two day hunt!!! What do you get for your buck spent??? All meals, weapon, ammo, lodging, alcohol, and transportation. You don't even have to touch a bird. Crazy, huh? And to top it all off.... He runs over a 1,000 hunters through his camp every year!!!

Cool hand, my hat goes off to him.

Some people don't mind chucking out the extra dough for things like that, and that's fine. I just don't happen to be one of them.

Quail, however is a different story. I want to try and book a hunt somewhere this year.

I paid $600 per person for a whole weekend of dove shooting at Cenntennial Lodge once. Incredible hunt( birds by the thousands) five star food and lodging, included four hunts...worth every penny to see my Dad's face shooting those birds!!

Take'um

Yes sir, that lodge is just down the road from me. Hank Wise is the owner and runs a fine operation. His son, Hunter , is a world champion skeet shooter or rather national champ.

Problem is I (and I'm guessing a lot of other folks that pay top dollar) live in the City/Suburbs so its either pay a trespass or guide fee or hunt public land.... Last year TPWD had next to no public places anywhere near Houston...

For those of you that don't pay, do you hunt your own place, a family owned place, friend's place???

I don't pay and hunt friends places. I have gotten lucky and going on my second corporate hunt this year. I did a lease about 6 years ago and shot 3 birds the weekend after the opener since they were all shot out. Only managed one good hunt on the place when the birds finally moved back in but we shot them out in a day with so many people hunting.

I have a season dove lease that is close to town. There are two of use on it and we pay $125 each. We can each bring a guest. It is small, about 100 acres, but has two tanks and milo fields all around. I can also hunt on my deer lease, but it is further out and seems to have a lot fewer birds.
