I have two for the boat, and use them when early teal hunting. They work great

I swear by 'em. Lat year, I had 3 deer with-in 15 feet of me and my wife in our pop-up. Awesome for Bow and Turkey season.

Where do you treestand guys place the thermacell? At your feet, or do you use a holster? I'm thinking of putting next to me on the seat, but it seems like it would be easy to knock off the stand.

i know it is a long shot, but was curious if anyone has tried it for that too.

i plan on picking one up for the skeeters in the treestand, but it would be great if they kept the ticks away too.
not even sure if the ticks are up in the trees. i just always seem to find e 2 or 3 of them on me while at the ranch.

from what i hear tick are in trees and when they sense heat they fall to the ground or on whatever they are sensing heat from

I tried the Off brand unit after hearing Pitman on here recommend them and was not very impressed.

The Off brand units are alot louder than the Thermocells and they didnt work nearly as well for me as the Thermocell has. I had more than one mosquito on me after having the thing on for over an hour.

I'll stick with the Thermocell from now on.

Get the holster. I then clip it on my stand and don't have to worry about knocking it off. Also, while walking, spot and stalkin, I clip it on my belt loop.
The holster also has 2 snap pockets where you can carry extra pads and another container of butane. Best $25 bucks I ever spent.

I have the holster with mine so, if I'm sitting I strap it on my thigh. Does'nt get in the way.

Yep, I was at Bass Pro in Grapevine a few weeks ago and bought one for that price. Crazy, since it's the exact same device as the other, just different color and scent.

Works like a champ. I even use mine in the backyard in the evening time if the critters come out. I also have the case, makes it easy to put it up in a tree or strap it to the stand.
