I've got 2 boxes that I need to get rid of.
1 box of 6.5 Cm-Hornady Black 140 Gr BTHP
1 box 243-Hornady Superformance 58gr V-Max

I don't know what to ask for them.
What is the best way to ship if that is needed and what is the cost to ship 1 box?

Any and all help is appreciated.

I have no idea what it is worth and "how to ship" will get a ton of different answers, most of them wrong.

Get a UPS account online. It's free.
Pack your ammo safely according to the rules.
Make sure the box is labeled properly.
Pay for the postage online through your account, print the label, affix it, and take it to nearly any store that has a UPS pick up.

Some will quote the rules and say you must drop it off at a UPS hub but this is not true. The local shop WILL NOT sell you ORMD postage but WILL ACCEPT your ORMD package that's pre-paid.

Pass the gravy.

With the low quantity you have I don’t know if it would be worth shipping. The hazmat fee would make a single box pretty expensive.

I would advertise them local pick-up only.

Loaded ammo has a hazmat fee? I thought it was just powder and primers.

Fixed rate boxes at the USPS are less that $6. No hazmat.

yup but it is to go ground only and needs a label and USPS does nor ship AMMO. Use UPS ground only no air shipping for AMMO and requires the proper ORM-D label

There is no hazmat fee for shipping ammo, just primers and powder. All the important facts are in my post above.

Flat Rate boxes are not less than $6. The smallest size is nearly $10 now. This is NOT acceptable by rule and puts you at great risk for a massive fine but to each his own.

Pass the gravy.

I stand corrected. I was simply working on an assumption that since powder and primers were hazmat then loaded ammo had to be. We all know what happens when you assume. My apologies.

I've had good luck selling and trading ammo that my rifles didn't like to local parties using texasguntrader.com. It was just a few boxes that took only a day or two to complete the deal.

And I guess I stand corrected as to the price. Must have been a recent increase. Moreover, I asked the guy behind the counter at the post office if it was ok to send ammunition via the flat rate boxes and was told it was fine....Just FWIW.

Think about this before shipping ammunition USPS in those easy Priority boxes. Ammo is specifically listed as a prohibited item, and when you answer NO on the question, you just committed a Felony!! Not worth it, and if they tell you it's OK they should be fired. Just too easy and cheap to use UPS. I sent 5 boxes of 300 RUM to the East Coast for $16.

And kiss hunting goodbye for life unless you intend to use an air rifle.

Had to go to the P.O. to pick up a package, so I looked around in the lobby. There were at least 3 different signs saying "No Ammunition"!!!!!!!!
