Having been in the inland navigation industry for over 20 years, during which time I have navigated the Mississippi River from St. Paul, MN to mile 7.5 below head of passes, the Ohio River from Pittsburgh, PA to its confluence with the Mississippi at Cairo, Il, the Illinois River from Chicago to its confluence with the Mississippi at Grafton, Il, the Arkansas River from its confluence with the Mississippi to Catoosa, Ok, the Atchafalaya River from Morgan City,LA to old river control structure then up the Red River to Shreveport, the Mobile river to the Tennessee Tombigbee waterway up to its confluence with the Ohio River as well as the Intercoastal waterway from Brownsville, TX to Carabelle, Fl including all ship channels that it intersects, one might say I've seen a bouy or two. If I was smart enough to post a picture from my iPhone I could show you some pretty neat ones.
