After many years I finally got out to see my cousin in Mills County. He has lived and worked this ranch his entire life (we are both in our mid 60's). I spent some summers there. Learned how to drive and about livestock. Started hunting there. I was in need (want) of some venison so he asked me out (MLD). All low fence property, except for a neighbor's place. As usual we started out feeding and had to look at a sick horse. He gave the horse a shot and that was that. While the mare was being held I noticed the wind generator in the background. The place hasn't really changed, except for the great roads that were built for the wind farm. Oh, and the pigs. Dang they have gotten there too.

The world is always changing! Sometimes for the better, but wind farms? I always knew them to just be a bunch of wind generators. My cousin enlightened me. Actually less of a footprint than oil wells and cleaner. My folks are buried in the London Cemetery and we stopped by the site after Christmas. Noticed that someone there, right along the highway, had allowed one of their pastures to be covered with solar. Used to be a bunch of Spanish goats there. I guess you could raise pigmy goats there, but otherwise, useless as land for stock.

Did you get some venison? Yes, thanks. Took care of a few pigs for him too. Funny, I was working on the deer at the hunting camp. I kept hearing this swoosh sound. Had to look around to see just what the heck it was. Looked up on the hill and I found it. Didn't realize how much noise that blade made as it cut through the wind. And it was over 200 yards away.
