Specifically near Lexington? I have a buddy that used to live there that told me there are not many deer and what are there are teeny.

Just doing a fact check.

That was last year, and we past up a couple good 8s that will probably be good this year.

The guy who told me this was not a hunter. He lived on 80 acres in Lexington and said he saw a lot of does and next to no bucks. My guess is that he just didn't put in any effort.

Land around there is pretty reasonable considering its proximity to Austin, so I was just wondering if there were any deer. Thanks very much for the information. I don't consider a 130 "teeny" at all. That'd be my biggest deer.

Yeah, I've looked at some land near Somerville too. Tends to be a little more expensive, but yes, there are some big deer around the lake. I think most of Somerville is in Burleson County.

I live and hunt in Lee County. The antler restriction has been a blessing (at least at our ranch). An important key factor: Feed them, Let them walk and they will grow. A 130 class buck is very common at 3 1/2 years, one more year and you will definitely have a trophy. Check out Dime Box Sportsman's Club, it's a popular deer contest that has proof of the quality of deer in the area. The biggest problem in the county is poaching but I guess that happens everywhere. I'll try to post some pictures later.

hye guys its nice to see some local hunters on here as i live and hunt burleson county right here in caldwell. And Amber is right the restrictions are a blessing i have seen people shoot 2.5-3.5 year old deer that would have been monsters but shot them because they were "bigger" than the spikes that they let walk!!! Lee county was one of the original AR counties and the results are excellent in my opinion as i have hunted with my cousin in lexington and before the ARs he hunted for one decent/average buck but now with the restrictions in place and the deer getting older it is not uncommon to get pics of 135+ class deer! Goodluck
