Had to work the feed ramps because the tool used to make them left a pretty good lip on them. Wouldn't feed at all until I did that. The CMMG magazine sits too low in the well so the bottom of the brass takes a hard hit/grab at the bottom of the chamber but still generally feeds. The cheap FMJ ammo actually shot pretty good and was perfect for a 20 round break in. The Winchester 180 grain load was plenty accurate. Wind made getting tight groups out of the question but I had no problem getting the rifle sighted in. I do think getting MOA or pretty close to it is possible under good conditions.

I decided to work the magazine feed lips and polish the bolt face. Made a lot of difference. A hundred or so more rounds will tell.

I have one. I actually sent the first one back to BCA to fix feeding problems since I didn't feel comfortable doing so. One I got back feeds everything ok but Hornady American Whitetail. I plan to try it on a different lower to see if that makes any difference. I'll also check the mags.
I picked it up so i could have a spare & to check performance on hogs. Also because it was the only ammo on the shelves early last year. Haven't been able to go hunting with it yet but am looking forward to it.

The only real problem with the upper itself was the burrs on the feed ramps and the bolt face was a bit rough.

I’m having the same problem with a Faxon barrel that I’m going to work on this afternoon. It has a pretty sharp lip that is hanging the bullet then causes it to shoot up into the top of the chamber. The ramp angle seems to be to steep leaving a half moon dent in the brass on the bottom side when the cartridge is trying to enter the chamber at such a steep angle. rickt300, I’d like to see some pic’s of your feed ramps if you could.

I have a BCA upper in 50 Beowulf that has been 100% from the start. Only negative I could say is that if I chamber a round and then don't shoot it, it is really scratched up, but function is fine. From a rest with Underwood ammo, groups are around 1.5 inches. I have been looking at their 6.5 Grendel uppers lately.

Bear Creek .50 Beowulf and 7.62X39 I got to shoot just fine. They cycled, and the 7.62X39 actually laid down a sub-MOA group at 200 yards, during load development.

My rifle did the same thing, deburring the bolt face helped a lot. Deburring the feed ramp was intuitive in that all I had to do was remove a lip/burr from the ends of the feed ramps and the center hump. I should add the lower is also an untested PSA up until the 38 shots fired so far. I noticed the buffer/spring seemed sluggish in the beginning. The last five rounds functioned perfectly. I will also say the chamber is tight, meaning it has to be very clean to allow cartridges to seat fully. I don't think I can run .357 bullets in it. I may need to polish the chamber a bit.

Probably got a little carried away but I took the lip out and polished up everything including a touch on the chamber, but it is feeding very well with the 145gr FMJ but the 150gr XP rounds still mark the case pretty good. I’ll work on the bolt face tomorrow and will probably slick the mags up a little.

I’ll work on the bolt face tomorrow and will probably slick the mags up a little. I had trouble getting Winchester's 180 gr. Power point to feed. The cure in my case was to grind back the front of the magazine feed lips back to the rear of the first groove (about .200) in the magazine. This allowed the case head to pop up sooner and feeding has reached a point of in 30 rounds all is good. In fact I have almost quit looking to see if the bolt closed. The differences between the 223 case and the 350L case are pretty obvious and it is odd they chose to use the same feed lip length for both cartridges. The 350L having a much longer full diameter case.
