I was finally given my dads 12 gauge he bought when he was like 12, he past away 27 years ago
Long story why I just got it, but I have it, that's all I care about
My main question is, does anyone know a good gunsmith that might be able to fix the foregrip? see pic
I would like to get it back in the condition I grew up with it in
Here is a couple of pictures of the foregrip where the screws pulled out of the wood
It's an old L.C. Smith Field Grade

Glad it's in your posssion. Who ever had it for 27 years isn't much of a gun caretaker.
From what I see I think you can fix it yourself by drilling an oversized hole (straight of course) then gluing in hardwood plugs. From there predrill plugs them attach to gun without over tighting the screws.
Forgot to add, coat screws threds with bar soap to act as a lube when screwing back in.

Good luck,

IMO that’s a craftsman fix and not necessarily a gunsmith one, if you don’t get any ideas here I may be able to help. Any other gunsmith tasks I would not take on.

Best of luck.
