Spend some time in the ER on Christmas Eve. The boy has been fighting an infection all week, we did our best to stay on top of it with meds, and thought we had it kicked. He woke up today with a 104.5 fever that we couldn’t break with house meds. We tried the local Doc-in-a-Box but they were closed, so we ended up at his favorite place, the ER. This marks the 3rd or 4th trip this year. All tests were negative, so doc said it’s just viral. They gave him about 5x more Tylenol than what we ever have, and a breathing treatment and sent us home with new scripts. He proceeded to projectile vomit later on, and seems pretty worn down for a kid that just took steroids.
