Alright, I’ve finally crested that point in my elk hunting when it’s time to hire a professional! I’ve been DIY public land for years and we kill elk every year but I’m ready for some solid professional guidance next year. This forum has never let me down so I’m gonna lean on y’all for some good references. Thanks and happy hunting!

Hey BOBO thanks for the feedback here. Good info. Colorado Rocky Mountain Elk is on the bucket list. Thanks again for the feedback! Those are the premier type places in min CO. There are other options with still good opportunity. Those are the Jurassic park type places in CO.

Hey that’s for the input I really appreciate it! I would say a 6-8k budget would be reasonable.

Hill ranch in CO is really neat. Some giant mule deer there as well and a healthy population of lions if you want one. Also, the road system makes it so you aren’t hiking all day.

They’re the best I’ve hunted with. They’re all friends/family after all these years. I’m booked with them for something every year now. Camp is not modern, but is comfortable. Rick the cook retires this year, but I know his replacement. Food will be good homestyle fare. It’s not uncommon to see 8 bulls a day. Feel free to PM me if you’d like more details. Good luck. It’s addictive!

Bull Basin Outfitters, Kremling Co. Best and biggest outfitter in the state. Almost every major gun or ammo manufacturers use him for a reason. Full guided, lodging meals. They have several large ranches available. About 7600.00 for a couple of the best ranches. They have about a 90% opportunity rate. These ranches are low fenced working ranches. I have been a couple of times and had the best hunts I’ve been on. I killed a 330 bull a couple years ago.

Ya I saw a stud deer there this year, via head lights. Unfortunately not my side of the fence. That whole area needs a good lion cleanse. I cut 5 different tracks in five days just north of the Hill. Talked to the gas guys and they had lots of encounters and issues with moms and kittens. Whole area is a bull rich environment with great upper age structure

Bull Basin looks to be right up our alley! I shot my first bull, a nice 6X6, northwest of kremmling and that was from the public side. All the animals seem to be on private after being chased during archery and muzzle seasons. I think I’m going to reach out to them.

If you book with them at Sunny Side ranch try to get Bird for your guy. Incredible guide and guy.
