I’ve got a thread in another section about some ammo I was sold as hunting ammo, but which even the manufacturer recommends not to hunt with. It got me to wondering…Why would a long range target bullet thats supposed to be super accurate at long ranges…have a hollow point? Hoping someone can fill me in on the reasoning and/or the physics behind it? Thanks

The hollow point on match ammunition is there to help maintain a minimal meplat (flat point), not for expansion.
Do not trifle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

The hollow point on match ammunition is there to help maintain a minimal meplat (flat point), not for expansion. Wouldn’t a ballistic tip or fmj serve it better in that capacity?
