A pressure point of stock to barrel, is the manufacturer hoping it shoots mass production ammo decent. Most rifles out there have free floated barrels for good reason. You've been told this multiple times, for multiple years, by multiple people and still will not absorb it. Or you are a troll.

Two weekends ago a brand new Tikka 6.5 Creedmoor was brought to me to clean, scope mount, bore sight, and zero. Tikka T-3's have the stock touching thr barrel for 5" from the recoil lug. I know this, and I took the rifle apart and corrected that problem before ever shooting it. 3 foulers, cool, 3 foulers, cool. Last 3 foulers were one ragged 5/8" hole at 100 yards. The man watched me do all this, said thank you, and handed me cash.

Like others have said not a remington foot print, but you can, or at least on the first series vanguards you could use remington basses for a 700.

Remington two piece bases and Howa 1500 bases are the same. One piece bases are different.

We have a number of Vanguards in the family and have been pleased.
