I’m not an expert on this, as it was given to me as a trade for a favor. Needing to build some funds to combat a financial difficulty. I really don’t know what it’s worth, but from all I can find online, scope-less rifles of this caliber/style go for $650-2500. Ive found actions to be $200-400 and the barrel, when threaded and chambered to be a little more than $400.
As titled, chamber is .22-6mm aka .224 Texas Trophy Hunter. Some recipes have 53 grain bullets holding to a .8” drop over 300 yards and muzzle velocities nearing 4,000 fps. Perfect long range varmint or prairie dog gun.
Standard, fair condition Savage 110 action with trigger, barreled with what I’m told is a Shilen. I don’t know for sure that it is. Whatever it is, it will be a high quality barrel, as I know the builder and he doesn’t skimp. He was a fan of Shilen though, so I’m sure what I was told when the middle man gave this to me is true. If not, please let me know in the thread. Seems just shy of a “varmint contour”, and cut 26”. (Edited to correct length, once I was corrected on how barrels are measured)
I do not know the twist rate. If I had to bet, it’s 1:12.
Round count is believed to be 3 (only the three used to check it) and I have all three spent brass cases to go with it. I do not have the target from that 3-shot group, assuming there was one. Most completed rifles in this cartridge seem to be 1/4-1/2 MOA.
No stock, no bottom metal. Has simple, and probably cheap, bases.
I’d like to get $650 for it.
Located in Lindale/Tyler, could arrange meet up, or a full price offer will split the cost to ship to your FFL. Also, within the next few weeks I’ll have ways to get it to anywhere along these routes: 11/9/21 I-20 between lindale and Roscoe, 84 between Roscoe and Post, 380 between Post and Ruidoso NM; 11/14/21 between Lindale and south Austin, most likely I-20 and I-35; 11/27 between Denver CO and Lindale down 287 to Wichita Falls, to Jacksboro, to Ft. Worth and then I-20 to home. Can get it to west Houston (Brittmoore area) most weeks.

Wish this was a 1-9 or so twist. I have been wanting to build one of these for a while. The 1-12 just will not shoot the heavier bullets very well, from what I have heard. Also, I am not quite where I could get it when you come thru Abilene next week. Drat.

I can probably get it to Abilene in the future. I know people that work out west, and my dad ventures out there for work from time to time, and has a lease in Ballinger close to town.
As for the twist, I’ll see if I can get some sort of a measurement. Maybe with a brush and cleaning rod. I only think it’s a 1:12 because that seems more likely from knowing the guy who built it. But I could totally be wrong.

Clays, I’m sorry it’s taken so long to get this for you. Hopefully we can still make a deal work one day.
I got a cleaning rod and brush out, inserted it in the muzzle until firm, made a mark at 12”, and measured again when mark had turned one rev. Got 9-3/16”. I’m sure it could have drug and not turned but I did it three times and the revolution was smooth. So I’m guessing 1:9” is the twist rate, and that 3/16” was time to get enough bristles into rifling grooves and cause the rod to twist.
If you like the sound of that, let me know. I apologize in advance for not checking my THF more often than I do. I’ll try to be better and watch for a reply. I should have a carrier headed your way a couple times over the next couple months.
I’ll also send you a PM.
