Is there anything wrong with putting a feeder at the edge of a food plot? Has anyone ever heard of doing this?

I have seen it done a lot. To me though, it seems like a waste of corn if you have food growing that they are going to eat anyway.

In certain parts of E-Tx, that is the only way to do it as opening are limited. Have seen deer come in to the feeder, eat up all the corn and never get out from under the feeder to touch anything we planted for them. And on the opoostire end, have seen deer come in to eat in the grass patch and never even look at the feeder. (That last part usually happens after a good shower though)

Nope nothing wrong with that, just increases your chanches of getting a good deer.

All my food plots have a feeder on them, and like said above I have seen deer ignore one of the two before. Some deer eat at both.

Don't put your feeder too close to the food plot. The deer will trample down everything within feeder throwing distance and it's just a waste of food plot seed...or at least that is the way it is at my house and at the ranch.

Ah! Didn't think of that! Thanks!
