Well, my nilgai hunt got changed to a trophy whitetail hunt, long story but my loss could be YOUR gain. I'm going to sell this beauty to someone who can take it Elk Hunting. I bought this rifle off Gunbroker. New, in Box with all paperwork. The stock is gorgeous. Fit and Finish is first class. This is the Classic model, higher grade than the M85 Hunter. I've shot it about 20 times and just started reloading for my hunt . It shoots the 180 AB's great, .75", (great for me) I will include dies, 50 cases brass (35) are prepped and primed with Federal 215 Magnum Large Rifle primers. Almost a full box of the 180 Accubonds . Redding FL Die Set (barely used) and a Redding, .300 Win Mag crimp die (never used). I believe I have some H1000, RL 22 to complete the package. maybe more, couple shell holders plus anything else I bought for this and forgot about. Scope and rings are not for sale. Rifle and all components $2,200 Face To Face, too much to ship. It's 1-10 Twist I'll post more pictures tomorrow for my daily bump.

There's more than one place to go nilgai hunting isn't there? I'd keep that beautiful and awesome rifle and go kill a nilgai somewhere.

Closest Buzz ever got to owning a Tikka....... I do hear 300 Win Mag is sufficient for killing trophy whitetail though.

That would be my choice for killing trophy whitetail in South Texas. Never had one run into the brush after being hit by a 180 gr. 300 win mag.

A buddy I used to guide with when we were in high school shot one with a muzzle break. I hated standing next to him when it went off, especially in a herd of javelina. He deafened me for a week one time when we were mule deer hunting. I don’t think I’ll ever need a 300 mag. We killed a lot of animals back in the day together and everything I shot with my 270 or 22-250 was just as dead without the muzzle blast.

Had a friend ask me to put his NIB Sako 85 in 7 WSM and new scope together, then zero with supplied ammo for an upcoming really expensive W.T. Hunt. Having never even handled a Sako 85, the more I worked with it, I decided I had to have one or two or…….
My Sako 85 300 WSM has been on two trophy hunts with stellar results. My Sako 85 308 Winchester has been putting lots of meat in the freezer. Both have seen more time since purchased than my other once favorite shooters. My Antelope guide even remarked at how smoothly the WSM fed rounds from the magazine stating that his new Kimber would not do so.
I LOVE my Sako 85’s. If I could buy one in 280 Remington, I would.
