That episode was too dramatic for me.

I set zero at 25. Always have and at a 100 yards I am no more than an inch off POA.
This is with .223 and .243.
30-30 would drop 3-4 inches at a hundred. Ballistics are a thing.

I have a d.o.p.e. card taped to my stock from my zero (100yds) out to 600yds, along with wind holds from 10 to 20mph at those yardage.
