Time to revive this topic. It seems lumber prices are back down in my area and wanted to see if others have noticed, or if it is just a fluke. I dont buy often enough to keep up with the fluctuation.

Last summer, i re-decked my flatbed. 2x12x16's were $49 each.

Was going to do my other trailer this summer. The same 2x12x16's were $92!!! No thanks, i will wait.

Fast forward to today. 2x12x16, same place. $34 each. I asked 3 times if those were treated. She said they were. Did she quote me wrong, or is lumber back to normal?

My main reason for asking is because we have been putting off building a house. If materials are back down again, we may start moving ahead.

Materials are back down a bunch. I was over a barrel, paid ~$16 for 5/4x6"x16' this summer. They're ~$11 now and still coming down.

My uncle just bought 2000 feet worth of new 3 inch pipe for $33 a stick. You should’ve shopped around more

Really depends on the pipe. We just got 60 joints of 2-3/8” at $42 each. This was good, clean, straight, not lined pipe. Haven’t really found similar much cheaper. Would be curious to know where he got it and what he got. We need 40 more joints. We bought all this guy had and went to Oklahoma for it.

When comparing pipe, is everyone buying the same length and weight? Makes a big difference in cost.
