I recently began working with our local Friends of Animals organization. San Saba county does not have an animal shelter so this group started a nonprofit organization. They do good things for rescues in the county including fostering rescue animals.

Her name is Roxy and is approximately 16-18 months old. She was abandoned along with another dog in a rural area. She is spayed and fully vetted. She was attacked by a previous foster homes female Rhodesian ridgeback. She came to us with open head wounds but is just about healed up now. Everyone thought she was a lab and pit cross. She’s a great dog so I had her DNA tested. It came back as 37% Neapolitan mastiff, 33% Cane Corso, 16% Rottweiler and only 8 % pit bull. I feel like she was probably the result of some hog dog breeders.

I have had her for nearly a month.

Doesn’t dig or chew things
Housebroken and doesn’t get on furniture
Full of love and adores attention. In fact I took her out on a PR trip last week and she wanted to be everyone’s best friend. I thought she loved me but turns out she loves everybody! She really is a sweetheart

I know she would make someone a great companion that wants a full time friend. Great for a retiree. She plays a little rough so I don’t think she would be ok around small children. I just don’t know she might treat them with gloves. I probably have about 10 days to find her a home before they send her to a no kill shelter.

We have six dogs and just can’t keep her or we would.

Pm if you may be interested

Did she submit to the ridgeback? How much does she weigh? I would think with those genes she would be 90lbs at 18 months.

No idea on the submission. Previous foster had a male and female Ridgebacks, not spayed or neutered. Female was territorial and jumped her. She developed abscesses under her skin from the fight. That’s when I got her was after vet visit.

Vet didn’t weigh her that I know of. She hasn’t had the best care in her life so she’s probably underweight of what she should weigh. Here is what she looked like when I got her.

Thank you sir! She is a very loving and grateful dog. I believe we have found her a good home. Scheduled to do a meet/greet next Monday.
