I went to https://www.vaccines.gov/ that shows that Janssen is in stock in various locations, but when booking an appointment, my only choices are Pfizer and Moderna.
Same when I go directly to sites like CVS, Walgreen, etc.
I even called a few locations and no one has Janssen.

Call the Kroger on McDermott in Allen...they show to have it. Most places do walk-in appointments, you just need to find it. The Vaccine website you listed shows several doctors with it at their practice as well...but I'd try Kroger first.

Out of curiosity is your wife in the medical field? When I was considering getting one it was J&J I would have gotten.

So long as you're not a woman under 50, you're pretty much in the clear to get the J&J vax.

She’s running the study for the Moderna trial. She took the Phizer vaccine and I took the Moderna simply because that’s what they had when we each went to get it. She’s seen the data for the J&J, she’s not impressed with it, but it does fill a void that the others don’t and is specifically recommended for some people. If your doctor doesn’t specify the J&J, then get one of the others.

Mainly because only one dose is required and I'm dreading the 2d dose more than the 1st. Also the side effects seems to be milder, and unlike the 2 others, it's not an mRNA vaccine.
It just seems to me that the J&J is less risky. But I do admit that I'm not educated enough on this topic and can't speak intelligently about it.

Neither of us were down for more than 12 hours. I took my second shot around 3pm, around 2am I could feel the effects with chills. 10am I got up and felt bad, put on sweats and covered with a few blankets. By 2pm I was up and working in the heat. It’s no big deal. About a week before the 2nd dose, start taking Vitamin C, hydrate, and the day of the shot start taking 1000mg of Tylenol, not aspirin or alieve.

My BIL, who is IMO a brilliant surgeon, told me that if I decided to get a vaccine I should look for the J&J specifically because it isn't mRNA. He's smarter and more educated than I am, so I tend to follow his advice fairly closely when it comes to medical advice. Interestingly, although he didn't tell me to not get vaccinated, he didn't tell me I should get vaccinated either. He's very much on the fence with the covid vaccine.

The side effects for 98% of the people I know have not been bad after the the second shot.... most have had a headache or a fever, none lasting more than 18 hours... there was a guy on the TFF that had 4 days of a high fever, but he was an outlier. I personally know I've 100 people that I helped sign up early on that had little to no issues. I did have a bad brain fog set in about 24 hours after the second shot. It lasted 12 hours, part of which I slept through. No headache, fever, or anything else. Also, age seems to play a big role in the side effects. I only know 2 people over 50 that had a headache and a slight fever for a few hours after getting their second dose. Everyone else had nothing other than a sore arm. If you decide on a 2 dose vaccine, get the second dose when you'll have a couple of days where you can recover, just in case, and don't do anything strenuous after the second dose.

I only know 2 that had J&J both had flu like symptoms for about 18 hours and it was over.

Personally, I'd go Moderna, but it's up to you.

Still conducting pediatric trials along w/ booster shots. Also drugs commonly are studied post approval.

They will be studying this drug, other drugs, and COVID for decades to find out the 5 W’s. Hell, they still study the Flu and vaccines for it.
