Forgive me if this question has been asked often, but does anyone have a recommendation for an after market recoil pad? I have a very nice Browning Auto-5 "Light 20" that kicks like a mule with heavy dove loads. It's an older gun that I hate to modify and would want a pad that helps maintains it's classic "look". I'm probably over thinking this, but any recommendations would be appreciated.

Limbsaver or Pachmayr Decelerator work well on my short-stocked milsurps that need a little extra LOP. Shouldn't damage the finish or anything.

Kickeeze or Pachmayer. Pachmayer is more durable. Kickeeze soaks up more recoil. Both look good

Slip on limbsaver makes a big difference for me. We like to just shoot the hottest shells we can find at 3 liter sodas from dollar tree. I have some 3.5” Hevi-Shot Speedballs, with about the nastiest combination of payload and velocity that you can find that completely vaporize those sodas at close range and 100% will bruise you I don’t care who you are. I think the recoil energy is like 70-75 ft ibs. But with that slip on limbsaver it is surprisingly manageable. I believe it is the slip-on air tech version.

Adds about an inch to the LOP, unless you take the factory pad off. I leave it on because I have long arms and appreciate the added length. That’s the reason I put it on in the first place, I have a habit of touching off the shot before I even pull it in to my shoulder. Old mossberg 835 fits me better with the limbsaver plus a single piece of two sided gorilla tape with the backing still attached added to the comb.

That is a point click dead combo for me.

First choice is Kick-Eez.

Second choice is Limbsaver.

Both offer pre-fit versions or you can go with a grind to fit version.

Those old lite 20’s are sweet shooters. A new recoil spring will probably do more than a recoil pad.
