I would encourage you all to do the same.
Congressman Gonzalez,
I have served my country honorably since 2002, for 9 years active duty in the Air Force, as a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, and currently as a civilian employee of the US Army in the Emergency Room at Brooke Army Medical Center. While the world was locking down, I was in the trenches fighting COVID 19 the entire time, the first 12 months without the possibility of a vaccine. I have had and recovered from COVID 19 and continue to serve the people of San Antonio and those military beneficiaries I love, doing a job I love, in a country I love. I am exposed daily to the virus. By extension, my family is exposed daily to COVID 19. We, like millions of other American families, have counted the cost and have made our decision to not be defeated, separated, or paralyzed by fear of an unseen, and unavoidable foe.
I listened to the President's speech yesterday and felt nothing but great disappointment and disgust. Last year I was a hero. Now I am the enemy. Why? Because I have chosen not to take a vaccine. A vaccine for a virus for which I already have natural immunity. A vaccine that is not without risks. A vaccine that has been proven to not protect anyone from contracting or transmitting COVID 19. A vaccine that will likely become more ineffective as this virus mutates. A vaccine for which there are no long-term clinical trials.
The President of the United States informed me that his "patience" with me "is wearing thin." Worse, I fear that I will soon be faced with a decision between supporting my family in a career I love; and taking an experimental medication against my personal judgement, principles, and reasoned, informed, personal healthcare decisions.
Sir, we may not see eye to eye politically; but surely you can see the danger that this kind of divisive rhetoric from our President, and an unconstitutional mandate about my personal healthcare decisions, poses to the freedoms we both love, support, and have fought to keep? Will you stand with me and millions of other Americans against this government overreach? Will you use your platform, as my voice in Washington, to stand against this abuse of power from the President? Or will you conform at the altar of political expediency? Thank you for your service to this great nation, John Williams

First, thank you for your service. Gonzales is already called out Biden on the border so maybe just maybe you might have an allie in this fight. I have never seen the logic in firing folks who spent a year helping people with the virus without a vaccine for not taking an un tested vaccine.

Thank you sir for you service and enduring the good fight to help people during this pandemic. I wish more people would follow your lead in writing their elected officials in the same, thoughtful, factual and impactful, way you have done.

Thanks gents. We'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks. Either we still have a constitutional republic...or we don't. I'll continue to pray. I have a government job, but my provision comes from the Lord. He has sustained me via my government job, and will continue to do so if the job goes away. For that I am grateful.

I'm sure it will carry big weight and have a great impact just like all the letters I've sent to my representatives through the years (insert sarcastic grin here).
But thank you for your service!!!

You should send that to the local newspaper and see if they will publish it.
