It’s been 10 years today since the Obummer administration had a CH-47 shot down in Wardak Province, Afghanistan (Call Sign Extortion 17) and we still haven’t been told why. It was the greatest one day casualty of soldiers in Afghanistan war, greatest one day casualty of Navy SEALs and greatest one day casualty of US Special Forces. There’s a documentary coming out soon about it and I hope you all watch it and see what a [censored] show this was. R.I.P. warriors of SEAL Team 6; Gold Team (DEVGRU) R.I.P. Matt Mills. My last deployment we did route clearance on HWY 1 in Wardak Province. Our hottest spot was right next to the Tangi valley where that Chinook was shot down in. Honestly didn’t think I’d get out of there alive on multiple occasions. In the defac on base they had all of their pictures on the wall along with many other killed in that general area. Tons of combat experience lost in that one incident.

Yes but not Gold Team. They run different “teams” at different times, on a rotation. OSB was taken out while we were at Mills’ wedding. He was pissed!!! Told me it felt like someone stole his Super Bowl from him.

Seal Team 6, refer to themselves by color. Not number.
Red team was on bin laden.
They put pictures up of the new prospects to team 6. Pretty much let the team guys pick.
Now, if they are selected and don’t make it, it’s tough on the guys. Most teams will not let them return, like they turned their back on their family.
Many have to go to training, if they don’t find a home.
Like seal team 2 is cold weather guys, that sucks.
