I understand that if you are handicapped or disabled, you can use an ATV or ORV on WMA's or public land. If you are directly assisting someone that is handicapped or disabled you can also use an atv or orv. Most of the literature states you can use these to travel to and from your stand. And you may even still hunt from the machine in certain instances. My question is this, can you Quail hunt from one. Such as turn your dogs out and trail along behind them on an ATV or ORV, again as long as you meet the qualifications. Or are you limited to where you can go on the land?? I ask this because I know a fellow who loves to Quail hunt, but can't get around anymore like he used too. I'm going to do my Quail hunting this year at WMA's and thought about taking him on a hunt. He is handicapped so he meets the restrictions. Just don't want to get there and them tell me stay on the road at all times etc.. etc... I will have to do quiet a bit to make this happen such as safety course, registration, etc.. etc.. so was trying to see if it will be worth doing. Because if all you can do is ride the roads we can do that in a truck. Any info. or experiences you might have had, I'd like to know.

That one is probably worth a phone call. Let them interpret it.

Check out page 6 of this link. It says ATV's must stay on roads or designated trails. It may be worth a call just to see what the particular WMA that you are going to says about it. I am planning on doing some quail hunting this year on WMA's as well. Which ones are you looking at?

Kind of what I was thinking too. But thought I'd give it a try, you never know when Kyotee will be arouond. To answer our public hunting questions.
