Mine like the Hornady 17g V Max’s the best, I tried 5 different types and these proved to be the most accurate but your gun may like something totally different.

Hornady or CCI seem to be the more consistent rounds. My Savage likes the CCI a little bit better.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Buy a box of as many as you can find and try them all! Each rifle is so different, it's hard to predict what your Tikka is going to prefer. Like other posters, mine likes CCI and Hornady.

If you were closer I’d offer to let you shoot some of my different flavors and see what yours likes better. As hard as 17 ammo is to find right now it’s going to be hard to find several different brands to shoot. I would definitely try to locate the Hornady 17g V Max’s and the CCI 17g V Max’s. Those were by far the best shooting rounds out of mine, it was a toss up on the A17 rifle but my bolt actions definitely shot the Hornadys better.

My old Savage 93 likes the Federal loads. So I stocked up on them years ago. Have enough to last quite a while. Just grab a few different types and see what it likes. I have 2 other .17 HMR’s and they like other loads.

Same, I think I have some CCI in there but it is dialed in with the 17g v max. The CCI stuff opened up and the 20gr jumped a little. It can split a 410 case at 40 yards prone with a 17g vmax

The noticeable thing about the 17HMR is not differences in Manufacturer name on it, but the powder/prime combination when it is loaded. They are all supposed to be identical, but can have minute variances. I am picky when it comes to lot numbers myself, and just try to get as much as I can from that same loading.
