Thinking about one last swing down before I have to put up the gobbler chasing gear for the year. Are the birds still responding and active in North Brown/Comanche County? Thanks for any 411. Been so long since I've posted on here I had to post a pic of this years KS bird LOL.

Congrats. glad to see you are still after the thunder chickens.
I bet the trip out for another gobbler is worth the drive.

Thanks Kmon1. I have never stopped hating on the yard birds. Twenty five plus years and I'm still mad at 'em. . Just haven't been on the forum in a while. Taking the SIL and we are going to try and get after 'em one last time this weekend.

My lease in Eastland county I loved taking new hunters out in May, the hens were mostly ignoring the gobblers and I have had great luck getting new hunters on good responding birds then.
One season I did not get to hunt them as much in April as I would have liked and had 2 tags left, got out there about 2 in the afternoon and by 4 had those tags filled and the birds cleaned and iced down in the cooler and drove back to the house.
Another year next to last Saturday of season Got out there for a morning hunt and filled the last tag for the year about sunrise on a good 5 year old or so tom (good hooks). Left him in the shade and went back to the truck, there was one gobbling on the net place less than 100 yards from the truck and for the fun called him in, then went on to the truck to go get my turkey and decoys, there were 2 more gobblers in the decoys. The next weekend took a friends kid out for a hunt and he got his first 2 gobblers that morning with one having 2 beards that were over 10 inches each.
Yes late season can be fun. Rising Star/Cisco is not much further north of you.

Beautiful bird! They're still at it in Concho/Tom Green counties. Best of luck!
