Well this has been some good information and ideas. After thinking about it, I'll just stick to my ground blind. It has worked for many years and no doubt it should keep working. I think when season starts I'll forget about this and enjoy the wilderness. But if not for the snakes and some of the other critters I would give it a try. I did add a remote control truck to my stuff last year. I put it in the brush about 10 years form my feeder (indian corn) and use it to run off hogs, and turkey. I have even ran off some axis with it. I'm thinking about mounting a video camera to it and really getting a up close look at the wildlife. If I can I'm going to video a hog kill, or something next month. It has added a twist to my hunting, and it keeps the unwanted from eatting my indian corn. I know I've had a bunch on here gumb my sack for my corn, but the deer really DO seem to like it and stay at the feeder longer.... Thanks for all of the help and ideas.

I feed Indian Corn, the deer really seem to like it and stay at the feeder longer......and longer....!

Not to beat a dead horse, but

1. Does it ever rain there? Pack your swim trunks . .

2. Does it get hot/cold there? every rattler, scorpion, and black widow within a mile will find your 'hole' a nice place to stay out of the heat/cold.

3. already mentioned, but the 'ground' provides a fairly effective 'backstop' for high-blinds - shooting level/upwards . . hope you have thousands of acres . . . .

Ifn it's below 50 you can just pick the rattlesticks up and throw em' outside. Hell, they have had storm cellars in south Texas for decades, I would go for it.

Snakes Snakes Snakes.
Had a lease in Webb county years ago and could not keep the snakes out of it.
Cover it, snakes.
Uncover it, snakes.
It's hard to be quite in the mornings when your looking for snakes.

Good Luck And Keep a Tightline!
