Hopefully, but I still haven't heard/seen any need for landman for fieldwork.

Nope, Slow Joe is setting the country up to be dependent on the Middle East for oil.

Bunch of crap IMHO. Yesterday “they” said the rising prices were because of the cold spell we had last month. Ha. I’m not buying that at all. Gas was $1.57 a gal back on Nov 15th. This rise is due to Biden’s policies and making us dependent on foreign oil again. And it sucks.

It doesn't look like it, especially after biden suspended all new drilling permits in the Gulf of Mexico, which is where I normally make my living.

No oil and gas stuff going on here the Middle East production Capital of the world called the Permian Basin. Gas prices are soaring though along with the fracking earthquakes almost on a daily basis.

Some economists are suggesting a surge in gas needs soon as people spend their stimulus, plus summer driving. However, it has also been suggested that without further stimulus that there is still a huge number of people unemployed/under employed. There were jobs lost that aren't coming back, at least soon. So...the point was a higher need for gas for a short period of time and then back to a lower demand.

The fall in price today was reported as a supply/demand issue.

Old fool in charge supposedly cancelled a lease sale in Louisiana. The article isn't all that clear to me. It sounds like it may not be a done deal, killing the sale, yet. The LA governor is working on it.

Some will come back but not all. Unlike the previous downturn, the name of the game for E&Ps is no longer production growth at all costs while wall street or PEs pump money into them. Now, they are being rewarded to operate within their own cash flows. This requires lower production which in turn, means lower head count.

~Nov 19, US peak production was around ~13 million barrels/day. We'll most likely settle (and stay flat for some time) around 10-11 million barrels/day. Not to mention permian has a take away capacity of 15 million barrels/day so a lot of the major midstream work will also take a hit, unlike the previous few years.

There are over 200 drilling rigs running in the Permian Basin, on the Texas side right now. That's a far cry from where it was a year ago, but hardly "no oil and gas stuff going on".

It’s picking up. We’ll see just how far it goes, but we do have some breathing room, at the moment.

Ole joe will find a way to [censored] this up. Just give him and the handlers a moment. Gas will still rise and we will not see any improvement on that front thanks to Joe.

Rig count was 351 on 1-1-2021 and 402 this week. That`s a 51 rig increase this year, but almost none for the last 4 weeks. Oil and Gas is an unpopular investment in the US thanks the the Liberals.
