What might a rough ballpark price be to install an above ground 250 gallon propane tank for a suburban residential whole house generator?

Better check with the city , if you are in city limits. Some won't allow tanks in town. Don't shoot the messenger.!!

State has installation requirements as well.
If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Seems like when I bought my new 500 gallon tank for the house a couple years ago, , 4T Propane (Kingsland Tx.) installed it for free. I just paid for the fitting and hi pressure hose which wasn't much.

Not sure about your area/city.
I've purchased 2 in the last 15 years or so and the installation and setup were included in the price of the tank. Had to pay for the fill of course. Rentals are also an option if you may not be in the home long term or prefer any leaks or other issues be covered...an insurance of sorts.
Guesstimate $1400-2000 installed and filled.
