Everyone I think I have one of them Ghost Rabbits lol. I hunt rabbits in my creek a lot. I have a .17 HMR with high powered flashlight and red laser on it. For the past month I'd say I have been after one rabbit in particular. I named him ghost because he is so quick and sneaky. I have set out tons of traps by his hole. The next morning when I come out and check them they are set...But nothing in them... Last night I went out and saw him was 10 feet away and when I pulled the trigger POOF he was gone??? I ran and looked around the bend and he was just hopping into some brush. And at 10 feet a 17 would have blown him up cause there was no blood no nothin. There is one spot he always stays and when I have my gun hes usually never there. When im driving around by the spot with no gun hes there. When im driving around the spot with a gun hes not. Even when I stay 200 yards away when I think he couldnt see me hes not there... This rabbit is now called the Ghost Rabbit. I think if even I caught him in one of my traps now I would let him go... Just for all the hell hes put me through I'd kneel down by the live trap and say hey buddy I caught you. Then let him go.

I'd say, "I caught you and now I'm gonna punch you in the face." Then I'd punch him in the face and let him go. That way he'd know that humans are the dominant species on earth, not rabbits. Sounds like he's gotten a little big for his furry britches if you ask me.

Do you mean that they are "upset"? Tripped? He's a smart one.

LMAO at Cody...but nothing new there...

I've told this before here, but you're fairly new, so...

When I was a kid there was an old woman that lived across the creek from us; about 2 miles away, but that was close back then. There was no driveway to her house and she owned no vehicle, not even a wagon. She had animals: an old mule, several cats, a dog, an old sow, a few chickens and a dozen or so geese. Everyday she would sit in the shade of an ancient oak tree and talk to the animals. Wild animals, too. Owls would perch on back of the old bench she sat on. Yotes would slither up and slump down in front of her. Rabbits and coons would gather up and parlay with her. It was weird. We were never able to kill any animal on that side of the creek - they were too smart.
Her name was Witch Komike.

Do you have a witch living thereabout?

Is that a true story Orn? There's a witch in North Runnels county. She's nuttier than squirrel turds if you ask me, but I've never seen her outside the house.

Not to go too far off subject:

My parents, neighbors, grandparents, uncles and aunts all told us that there was no one living in that old house on the hill...been abandoned since the Great Depression. Me and two of my brothers saw her. She was raking leaves one autumn with a stick broom. We never saw her ride it, but...

We lived deep in the Frazier Creek bottoms back then and a passing car was a delight. We could hear trucks on the highway miles away, but it had to be at night with no breeze blowing. So, yeah, we were isolated. An Oriental family lived there in the 20's, but just up and moved away...except for the old grandma. Nothing was ever heard where she went.

But we were kids, full of adventure and tomfoolery. We'd see candles burning in the old barn and sneak up to get a peak of whoever was there. One night as we peeked over one of the stalls, an old white-haired, wild-eyed woman caught us. Told us her name and said for us GIT! and never come back or she'd have us for supper...

Despite mama freaking out, and my grandpa getting mad as heck, telling us we'd fall in that old well, they both told us there was no such person living there. Even my grandma said we were making it up. To this day we still talk about old Witch Komike.

The mind of a young explorer...

Sounds like this bunny may be related to Buggs. I'm not saying you're Elmer though. I believe that rabbit outran that .17 HMR round.

I have a pack of rabbit hounds we could hunt him with, I've had a rabbit liked that before. My was the Ninja rabbit though.
Took us 3 different attempts to kill him. Dang rabbit made my dogs look like fools the 1st time we ran him. 3rd day though he made a mistake and ran along a gravel road, got himself loaded full of lead.
Trying to kill that rabbit was more memorable than most of the deer hunts I've been on.
