Apparently now if you buy anything reloading related (Like a Powder Funnel), they want to write down your Date of Birth and Drivers License Number at check out. I asked the clerk why do they need that information, the clerk claimed "Liability".

Thought I'd try out that store for the first time and since my powder funny is getting a bit worn, I thought I'd get a replacement one. Not giving anyone my drivers license number and DOB unless I"m buying a controlled item (Like a Firearm on a 4473).

I talked to an employee there that stated he knew some guys were just there to buy and resell.

In August I was able to buy everything I needed to reload for 9mm because a small store in Oklahoma had limits.

In August I got everything I need to reload as well I just don't remember what year it was so people "hoarding" and "reselling" couldn't bother me one bit.

Agreed, not giving my DL and DOB for anything like that. Academy asks for DOB when buying ammo...guessing because of age laws. I'm not sure I've ever given the same answer.

You can have my first name and the year, anything beyond that is a no-go, PARTICULARLY if you are keeping a list in a store of 100+ employees. Holy hell people are stupid.

I have never shopped there but if they ask for that information for anything but a firearm or hunting license then I would just say have fun restocking it and walk away.

Go try to buy anything reload, they'll ask for you DL at the checkout. I even had a manager last night come over and said the same thing. Need your ID so we can enter it.

I wrote them an Email last night to complain too.

I wrote the manager and he just responded back with a link to this thread. Yes to all they did ask me for my ID. Not ever going there again. Id rather goto Academy, Bass Pro or Cabelas
