it's ok, if the dogs stay on an area that their owner owns or has permission to hunt. There's nothing lazy about it, but some ppl give it a bad rep for their methods...
edit: and when I mean bad rep I am referring to cutting locks, going in on roads that are off limits b/c its costs too much to fix them after a small shower...letting them out on small tracts next to big leases as deer season is winding down (not thinking the folks next door still have feeders running, sitting in stands & plan to do so until the end of Feb).. some folks in our area just get ignorant with it b/c they are addicted to it... even so much as family members going in and hunting your place while you are "out of town" and thinking you'll never know.

Lazy, that is funny. I bet they never tried to keep up with those dogs in thick brush.

dogs are the main way that I hunt hogs. anybody that said it is easy or a gauranteed hunt apparently never did it before. pity that a hunter has to bad mouth other hunters like that on a public forum. just gives those that would stop hunting altogether more ammo to do it. I've said it before and I'll say it again. first, it's gonna be my dogs, then the bows, and last the guns if they have their way.

I never done it and im down to do it anytime, I love to see the dogs do there thing from what I noticed hunter and dog work as a team and it doesnt look easy at all this is what he said if I saw this MF I will slap his azz for this comment.
(((I believe our definitions of hunting are different. I enjoy the skill and challenges of hunting. A bunch of hillbillys riding 4 wheelers following dogs that are chasing and wearing down a hog is not a hunt. Yeah, they are there to tie up and carry out the hog, but that is about it. Not a lot of skill involved if you are going to be that lazy just go to the grocery store.)))

I hunted with dogs for 13 yrs. and just sold out a couple months ago.But its not for the lazy or out of shape hunters. As long as the dogs are broke off livestock and hunt HOGS only you cant beat that kind of hunting. You can sit in a stand and wait for them to come to you but you can catch 6 or more in just a few hours and have a blast watching your dogs work.Just always ask around surounding land owners and no problems.

lazy my butt...lazy is sitting in a stand and waiting for a hog to show up. we go get 'em. if you ride around on a 4 wheeler then run in there and flip and tie THAT still ain't easy. there is nothing easy or lazy about hog doggin. unless you've done it you really can't speak to the laziness.

I cant really vote, I am for it if it is done legally it helps the population control alot, Im against it cause it has been getting ridicoulous around this are in Dewitt, Victoria, Lavaca, Goliad counties, people are taking untrained dogs out letting them trash on livestock and other wildlife, trsspassing, leaving them if they dont come back, I hunt coons with hounds and others have made it hard for me to go hunt areas because of such nonsense, I make sur my hounds are trained and wont trash or come back when called or I wont hunt them.

This is one of the main reasons i decided to quit hunting as hard, there is too many people giving the sport a bad name and hunters like the ones u listed are the reasons y and i hate to be associated with them type of hunters, sorry for your experience but there is some good doggers out there with good dogs

There is nothing easy about it. Lots of work. Running, lots of walking sometimes. Not to mention if you take the pigs alive, you have to grab the back feet and flip them to the ground.......and still haul them back to the truck.
A lot easier to pull a trigger or draw a bow back.

Or like I do it sitting in the hot tub, with the stereo cranked up, drinking a crown and coke.

That is how I hunt hogs, when 1FowlHntr was over we sat next to the hot tub,and that is where he shot his hog but we still had the stereo cranked up on the hot tub. When TexasLefty comes over that is where we sit also. Here is a pic.

Thanks, we really enjoy it. We get to sit back and watch the stars, and wait for the light to turn on. I have a motion light on the 2nd electrical pole, and feeder hanging next to it. It is 250 yards, wait before TexasLefty jumps on me it is actually 249 yards with the rangefinder. It has become a big joke when everyone is at the house.
