Long, long ago I was. Even before Lithium batteries, we were running electric trucks that did 45-50 MPH.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

Had a Traxxs TMaxx nitromethane truck, after upgrades it ran 68mph. Last was a built Emaxx running twin brushless motors, it ran 64 but would smoke the TMaxx up to 60mph

I need to go to the Traxxas place and T&T Hobby in Plano. Learn a bit. Pretty cool video's on youtube.

I like the self righting feature. The trucks are pretty cool

I'll go an electric kit if I do. Dont want to spend a lot, if i'm just going to sell it on here

They can get pretty expensive. I bought a Traxxas Stampede 4wd truck for “my son” about 3 years ago for Christmas. It was fast and we ended up hitting a mailbox and taking out the front end. While at the hobby shop getting the parts to put it all back together again, I got talked into upgrading to a beefed up brushless motor and now it really flys! Front wheels come off the ground when you gun it now. Fun toys!

They are surprisingly tough and can take being flipped and rolled quite well. But if you hit something hard at 50+ mph something’s gotta give.

Wade, yours sounds nutz!

I played with them in my early teens. Fun but even the higher end stuff was always breaking if you are running fast and jumping. Believe it or not fishing is a cheaper hobby than good RC toys.

My son (12) saved up and bought a inexpensive Traxxas (<300). He has learned a lot tearing it down, repairing it, and upgrading the car. He is learning how to tear down and diagnose differentials as the gears are wearing out. With the brushless motor and 2 batteries it can do a back flip from a standstill.

Honestly this has been one of the best things for him to learn how to take things apart, how they work, and put them back together.

I will say there are an infinite number of ways to break the thing, but the replacement parts are relatively reasonable.
