It would be nice to find some good priced deer protein around here. But, thats hard to come across.

So, i'm thinking I'm going to go with goat pellets like an above poster said. Thanks for that good tip.

$13.95 for Purina AntlerMax Watershield 20% Protein at Russell Feed in Ft. Worth. Their non watersheild 20 is a dollar cheaper IIRC.

Gorman Milling had their 17% deer pellet for $7.60 and their 20% for $8.00 last Saturday 8/1/09. Good stuff. Also, corn was $5.75 (all 50# sacks).

I'm thinking of putting out a protein feeder. Do I have to buy a protein feeder or can I use a regular feeder? Are all the protein pellets the same or do they make anything that will work in a regular feeder.

Some of you need to look for a cheaper place to buy your protein or consider buyin in bulk for a discount or something different.
