These seem to be fairly new and are sold by ATK (they own Federal ammo and a bunch of other stuff). Sportsman's Guide and Natchez SS are selling them at what appears to be a big % off MSRP. I have no experience with them and was wondering if anyone here has? The write up on the specs looks good and they have a "Lifetime Warranty".

Anyone know anything good or bad about them?

Good Luck and Good Hunting.

I recently bought 3 Intensity scopes and have mounted one so far. They are rumored to be proprietary-branded Aetec scopes, Simmons' top of the line. I've always believed that the Aetec is the best scope for the money in the $150 range. I have a 3.5x12 on my custom Remington .25-06, and the view is flawless until you get right up to 12 power, where the edge of the field gets a little fuzzy.

The 3 models I bought were the 2.8x10x44, the 4x12x44 and the 6.5x20x44, which I mounted on a beloved tang Ruger .22-250 bull barrel with the old flat bolt handle. They all cost between $70-85 on a close-out from Natchez.

Optically, I'd rate them above the Leupold VX II but below the VX III, the Weaver Grand Slam, and the Pentax Lightseeker, but only slightly so. If you can find one for around $120 or so, it would be a good buy.

BTW, I just took delivery of a new pair of Zen-Ray ED binoculars in 8x43 for $350. These are the Chinese binos that are drawing raves from the birdwatching crowd. In a word, they are astonishing! They seem to me (dare I say it) equal to my Leica 10x42 and B&L Elite 7x36 binos. If you run across a set of Z-Ns, I recommend that you take a look. Even John Barsness calls them a Best Buy.
