Anyone using the Autotrickler V3? I’m about to but a new powder dispenser and this one looks intriguing and I’d like some feedback if anyone has any?

I've got one. It's probably the best thing going now in terms of powder accuracy, speed, and value.
The Prometheus is more accurate, and a little faster, but costs ~$3,000; the Sartorius does the same thing as the AT V3, only is accurate to .001 (which is unnecessary), and significantly more expensive.
My AT V3 is on the FX-120i and it works really well. It's generally accurate to within 1 kernel of powder (depends on the powder), and it won't drift on you like a strain gauge scale. It's also quite a bit quicker than an RCBS 1500 etc. Usually takes me about ~7-10 seconds to throw a powder charge that's accurate to .02-.04.
They aren't without fault though. You will need clean power going to the unit, so look at a Trip Lite power conditioner (~$100 off amazon), and you'll want the thing positioned away from air currents and fluorescent lighting. Keep in mind, this is very much a piece of lab equipment some smart guy adapted to work with reloading; it's nothing like the digitals you've dealt with from RCBS, Hornady etc.
I would recommend the Area 419 trickler base, the clear lid, and the powder cup. The other accessories are kinda 'meh'.
Let me know any specific questions you have; happy to answer them.

I have one. It’s very quick and accurate. Only cons are price and some of the really coarse/ large grain powders aren’t real smooth going though the dispenser. There may be some flake powders that give it trouble but I haven’t seen them so far. I use my IPad to run mine and it makes setting and changing charges a quick tap on screen

Is about a grand the going cost for the complete set up with the FX-120i? Minus the powder conditioner and xtra’s,

That sounds about right. I think there are sales occasionally throughout the year on the FX120i if you purchase it direct from CE.
Honestly though, I'd just bite the bullet and order it from Adam. They're worth every penny with the speed increase.
Edit: It usually takes like a month for the full kit to arrive...just an FYI. Comes in two parts. The scale, and the Autotrickler/AutoThrow.

Ok thanks, I just ordered it and I’ll be ordering the Autotrickler on Monday. I appreciate the help What are you running for a case trimmer? I have an RCBS but I just realized the motors shot so something new is needed.

I use a Giraud powered case trimmer. You can see an example of it here: There are some drawbacks to it (namely having to buy cartridge holders for every case you want to trim, and it's a PITA to setup). Once you get past those hurdles, it's real quick and easy. If I were going to buy a new trimmer, I'd probably be looking at the Henderson Precision Gen 2 power trimmer. Edit for some additional thoughts: The Giruad indexes off the shoulder of the case, so the cut is only as accurate as your shoulder bump operation during sizing. Think of it as a cutting case gauge. It's likely the trimmer will expose flaws in your sizing operation, but if you do everything perfectly it'll cut exactly the same every time. If I were doing it again, I'd probably just get a cutter that cuts based off the cartridge overall length. Honestly though, I don't think trimming matters at all in terms of what you can see on target. So long as it's short enough to not cause you pressure issues, case trimming won't affect accuracy in the least. As a result I'd get the Henderson, which I perceive to cut faster/quieter, and not require additional investment with case holders and caliber specific cutters. The downside to the henderson is I don't think it chamfers and deburrs at the same time (unlike the Giraud which does it all at once). Thats probably going to be an unpopular opinion though. Lots of folks love their Giraud (I like mine too), but it's still kind of a chore....nothing like a manual trimmer though.

I agree. I had my name on the list for a Prometheus but the auto trickler v1 came out and I wasn’t shooting as much and bought it instead. I’ve upgraded every time a new version has been available. V3 I’d the best yet and it’s not even been close.
I used to HATE trimming, until I bought my Giraud. I’ve had no complaints but Mike it’s correct, I normally for once then trim after I’ve got a real good shoulder bump and sizing.

Anyone using the Autotrickler V3? I’m about to but a new powder dispenser and this one looks intriguing and I’d like some feedback if anyone has any? I use mine weekly. It is a much better thrower and a much better trickler than the previous model. It will tend to maintain a total of a .04 gr tolerance. Meaning it will throw .02 gr light, on the money, or .02 gr heavy. If it's.02 gr light you can manually drop one more kernal, if you feel the need. And if it's heavy you can pluck out one kernal if you feel the need. But, most likely no one can shoot good enough to shoot better than that one kernal light or heavy, so it is probably not worth messing with. The thrower does not like big kernal powder, such as the slow burn magnum powders. It can throw, and all of them do not dump, so you have to tap on it to get them to fall. The trickler needs to be set where the tube is slightly uphill at the powder cup. That is to reduce over-throws. Really easy to adjust the pitch of the trickler tube. It makes probably the best ammo in the world as far as powder charge consistency. 50 rounds is +/- 25 minutes.

Is anyone running the Area419 billet trickler base with their set up by chance? It looks like it may be a little better set up for accurately adjusting the powder drop. I’m ordering the cup and tray base for the scale and seen the base for the trickler and thought it looked better. Anyone?

I have not, the v3 is the best base yet and very easy to tune.
