Other thread got me thinking. I am planning on taking the kids to New Mexico during their break. Looks like we're not welcome unless we travel via Vermont. This whole mess is stupid. Guess I'll wait until time gets closer to make a decusion.

Fake news. But new Mexico sucks worse than Colorado.

Come on up to Oklahoma.

Chalet, thanks for posting this. I just booked a trip in Taos this morning, and just called and canceled it. What a joke.

Hire a "coyote" at the state line, he will be able to guide you through the check points. up

Me either. Depending on where you want to go in NM, you can even cross swim the Rio Grande. Now what could they say to that? If you're going to drive, just drive. I did at the height of the lockdown a few months ago and no one even thought of stopping us.

I'm sure they have no way to enforce it, but I'm not going to risk it.

Got friends from Texas who just got back from skiing Wolf Creek near Pagosa Springs. They said nothing about
any problems and the Ski resort is open.

I'm not worried about the drive. I have a hotel booked in Taos and plan on spending a few days doing things in that area. We're not driving that far to sit on our [censored] es watching tv for 4 days under "quarantine".

From Ruidoso

Quote
To our valued residents, visitors, and second home owners:

We know Thanksgiving seems like the perfect time to hit the road and spend time together with family and friends in the mountains. We want to update our residents, visitors and second homeowners on the latest Public Health Order from the New Mexico Department of Health.

On Friday, Nov. 13 Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced a statewide order closing in-person services for all non-essential activities in order to blunt the unprecedented spike of COVID-19 and relieve the strain on our local hospitals. Effective Monday, Nov. 16 through Monday, Nov. 30, New Mexicans are instructed to stay at home except for trips that are essential to health, safety and welfare.

HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

- Face coverings are required while in public

- Hotels, motels, RV parks and short-term vacation rentals that are N.M Safe Certified may operate up to 25% occupancy. All other places of lodging must close.

- Restaurants, breweries, wineries, distillers, cafes, coffee shops that offer food or drink can operate with to-go or delivery, no dine-in services.

- A retail space such as a grocery store, a hardware store, an automobile or bike repair facility, laundromats, liquor stores and large “big box” retailers — may not exceed either 25 percent of maximum occupancy or 75 customers at any one time, whichever is smaller. These essential retail spaces must close by 10 p.m. nightly and may reopen at 4 a.m.

- Close-contact businesses – salons, gyms, tattoo parlors, massage parlors, and bowling alleys must close

- Non-tribal casinos remain closed

- State-run museums remain closed

- The 14 day quarantine or for the duration of your stay (whichever is shorter) remains in place for out of state visitors.

- Camping is limited in the Lincoln National Forest

Now more than ever we need to work together to slow the spread. Please practice social distancing, wear a mask and follow the Ruidoso Safe Guidelines.

Stay healthy,

I work out of Midland but am in and out of Hobbs almost every day, never seen a checkpoint and restaurants don't seem to be limiting numbers either. JMObservation.

In addition to several trips throughout Texas, the wife and I took a trip to Montana and haven't caught so much as an upset stomach. If the crowds is what turns you off from flying, now is the time to take a trip.

Yeah, what does black mean. They are just as bad as everyone else, if not worse. Their state population infection rate is higher than my Tex county infection rate. They are just trying to keep out non residents, really as simple as that.

We have a reservation at an RV place for the 21st, one night on our way through. Called yesterday to confirm we were ok to come, and they said come on, the reservation is good. We are just overnighting on the way to Tucson, don’t like to push the days long towing the rig. Stopping in Las Crusces
