Texas has done an outstanding job showing up at the polls. That being said, I was visiting with some youngsters that have not voted for various reasons but sounded to me like they were intimidated by the first time process.

If perhaps some of our younger members are in that boat, just ask or send a PM if you are uncomfortable. It is super ez.

Nice gesture. Even thinking about that scenario makes me more nervous if they’re going to be voting. If they can’t figure that part out in their own. . . .

But, very nice to offer that up.

Does that make me a jerk?

This year is the first year my grandson can vote and he has been talking about it for a year. Guess who he is voting for?
(Hint, he wore a MAGA hat all around DC on their senior trip last year.)

Got two young trump supporters in my house that will not vote. Fear or laziness, idk. I told them it’s on them, all the way.

That was back in the day when most in Texas voted democrat.

My mother made sure to take me with her to vote every election to see how it was done, and took me to a few town hall meetings and that sort of thing.

First election I was old enough to vote in was 2012. I guess that makes me a baby.

parents can't get it done for them.

In the last S.A. City Council race which the mayor was elected the mayor, only 11% of all eligible to voters voted. Only 2% of those eligible from 18 - 31 voted.

Saw an article in the local news the other day that said young voter turnout in Texas is up 600%.

I sure hope for the sake of Texas and the country that it's not just the haters showing up.

I’m proud of my daughter, she is hard core republican. She was stoked about voting. She’s funny too.

in 1979 I turned 18 a month before my Senior year in HS started. One of the first things I did was register to vote.
The 1980 primaries were fun because my HS was the poling place for two precincts, mine included.
I told my Govt/Civics teacher I would be late to class because I was voting. I got extra credit.

Amen, Amen, Amen. The reason we are in this mess with the liberals is because for too long too many people did not involve themselves.

My son knows he is expected to vote. Pick a side, whatever side you wish, but put some skin in the game. Thankfully he has the conservative leanings. grin
