I finely for around to trying hammer bullets. They have a new design for speed freaks. It's a 90 gr absolute hammer. It's supposed w be able to be pushed faster than conventional bullets. So far in my testing it has. I'm loading it at 3860 fps with 66 grains of imr4350. I worked up to 3920 but it had a slight ejector mark. I'm sure with weatherby brass 3900+ is within easy reach. If speed is your thing, give it a try.

I don't know that I've had bad luck with anything in a 257. I just wanted to try something different this year.

Just a little update. I took small doe last Tuesday. I believe it is probably the first deer to be taken with the 90 gr bullet.
