Was at home when I saw it on the news. Got dressed and went to work. There was no plan so I was sent to watch Federal Reserve that night.
The next several days I had to ride trains from Dallas to Ft Worth. No idea what the objective was.
Was working the previous two weeks with a couple DEA guys. The got shipped out immediately and were used as “quasi Air Marshals” when air traffic resumed.

I'll never forget. Working in White Plains, just outside the city. Everyone went to big screen TV's after the first hit and we all saw the second. The office closed that day and all air travel was shut down. I was on the first Continental flight out of La Guardia when flights resumed.

At UPS DFW airport waiting on delivery truck to be finished loading. A couple drivers heard the horrific news on the radio on the way in. Announcement was made to leave immediately with partially loaded trucks and plan not to come back to airport after we finished deliveries, call in first. Airport was deathly quite with all aircraft grounded. as I drove out of the building onto the ramp I heard the unmistakable sound of fighters coming in hot. 2 dove down toward the runway and throttled back making a slow pass down the length of the runway in front of me and then climbed and circled back around as I watched a large solid white jet preparing for takeoff. I later learned it was Red Cross with a go team headed for NYC with a coworker of mine onboard. As the jet took off the fighters were on each side of it as escorts.
At one of my morning deliveries a lady was freaking out, her husband was scheduled to be working in one of the towers that morning and she could not reach him on the phone. She had a couple of kids with her and the TV on. I had her call a friend to come sit with her and waited till they arrived before I left. I never found out the outcome....
Several times during the day as I delivered in Frisco and Little Elm fighters made very low passes clearing small aircraft from small local runways around the lake that had not received the word. At the end of the day I received word that we could come back to DFW and we might have a military escort on property back to the building. Several fighters were on the ramp fueling next to our building with military surrounding each plane.
I'll never forget that terrible day.

On Tinker Air Force Base knee deep in a creek collecting sediment and water samples. Truck was up the hill doors/windows open, radio on when they broke into the song and said the first tower had been hit by a plane at that time they were saying they didn’t know if it was accidental until the second plane struck. We stayed on base till 9pm that evening working so I didn’t get to see it until around 10 back in the hotel. Took us 2 hours to get on base the next morning with all the security.

Sitting in a construction meeting at IBM in Fishkill, NY (90 miles from NYC). Went back to my office to see the 2nd plane hit the tower.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

My wife and I had been on vacation, camping and fishing in Colorado and New Mexico, much of the time without radio or phone service. On September 10th, we stopped at a Forest Service campsite near Red River, NM. Late the next morning, we decided to go into town to look around. We stopped in the Visitor Center, where the staff was all in the back watching TV. My wife said there was an image of some building on fire and casually asked, “Where is that?” A lady looked at her in shock and said, “You don’t know?” We were just numb. I presumed we had been attacked by another country and we were going to war. We walked across the street to a hotel lobby and watched TV in silence for a couple of hours. We decided we had to cut our vacation short and return home to be with our kids and grandkids, even though the Metromess might be another target. I went to a souvenir shop and bought a little American flag and taped it to the antenna of our vehicle to fly it proudly for the drive home. I felt helpless and angry, but didn’t know what else I could do.

I was running a dozer clearing cedar on a ranch in the Hill Country. My son called me and said a plane had just hit the World Trade Center. A little while later he called me again and told me another plane had hit the other tower. He asked me who I thought was responsible. I told him Bin Laden. He said who was that. He had never heard of him. I gave him a short history of who Bin Laden was and why he was responsible. I got off of the dozer and went home and stayed glued to the TV for several days. I will never forget the pit in my stomach as I knew we were in troubled times and the future was uncertain for our country.
Several years before when my son was a senior at A&M, he went on a trip with a group of other seniors that a professor did each year. The professor took this group to the New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and other historic parts of that area. He called one morning during the trip and said "Guess where I am?" "I'm on top of the World Trade Center overlooking New York City". We discussed the view, the weather up there and just things he was experiencing on his trip. A very pleasant phone call. To this day and on every 9-11, I think what if the day we had that conversation could have been the worst day of our lives.

I still get angry every time I think about how the liberal media immediately mocked President Bush’s face when he was given the news. He was at an elementary school reading to children.
Same ol degrading and degenerate liberals doing same thing even today
