I was in Academy last night and overheard the guy working the gun counter tell a customer that on the day after they get a nightly shipment of 9mm ammo, it's all gone with 30 minutes after they open.

Yup, I went to an Academy on the off chance to return some clothes at 9am and they had some. I was able to snag a box after someone split two with me. Later that day saw someone on TGT post their ammo for a 200% markup.

Just ordered 6 boxes direct from Federal.
$20 box for 115gr. FMJ American Eagle. A bit high but shipping was free and still way cheaper than any place I've seen.

Easiest place for bulk these days is on the used market. Yes bib box stores and pawn shops have the popular calibers, when they get it and for limited purchase. Can't even do that at the range now. Auction sites are covered up in it, but it can be a bidding war. The used market sellers include gougers, but not all operate that way.

Federal had some premium target ammo for sale! I went to purchase three boxes but it wasn’t taking my credit card or debit card. Had to watch that ammo sell to others, pretty tough.

Scored a box of 50 .380 FMJ this morning at the Academy in The Woodlands. More than a dozen boxes left around 10:30am. Had to return an item for my wife and decided to swing by. Buying an occasional box or two whenever I run across it has led to a good stockpile. With or without a store limit, it's never more than two boxes in respect for others, no matter how much is on the shelf.

I was going to post about federal having more 9mm but they sold out again.

I've seen a lot of it here in the Houston /Conroe area, including two of my local Academy stores (two box limit). Carter's Country had it with a one box limit.

.380 ACP is a different matter.
