Quit smoking 2 years ago, and now I’ve had my last dip after 15 years. Been clean for 6 days now.

Quit snuff 3 years ago this month. Gained 25 lbs. Went on the keto diet last September and lost 30 lbs.

I tried a dip of that herbal mountain stuff or whatever it is, that stuff is disgusting. I bet this stuff doesn't taste much better

Giving up cigarettes was way, way easier.

Funny that this thread just popped up. I used to smoke, and transitioned to dipping a few years ago. My wife quit as of a few days ago, and I told her that when my can went dry, it was my last can. Well, I just spit out my last dip about 10 minutes ago. I have been nursing this can for 4 days, so I have already been cutting back and at least it won't be cold turkey. Wish me luck! I posted this 14 days ago. Both my wife and I are still not smoking/dipping. Those who haven't quit yet, do it with a partner. I think it has been easier on us that way. There have been multiple times that I told her I was going to buy a can, or she told me that she was going to buy a pack. We were able to talk each other off the ledge. I still want a dip, but the urge isn't near as bad.

I quit dipping about 2 months ago. No real reason other than I know it's not healthy. It really hasn't been that hard. But I still wouldn't want to have a can in the house cause I bet I would eventually crave.

The good thing is that I only did for like 22-24 years so nothing long term........ Really it was easier than i thought but I would only have a dip after dinner. I wouldn't do it at all during the day. That probably made it easier.

Good job to the quiters. I quit dipping on a fishing trip about 18 years ago. Any body ever heard of "Johnny Jumper"? It's good for catfish and getting you to quit dipping. All you do is put a little on the end of your finger before you grab a pinch.

All you do is put a little on the end of your finger before you grab a pinch. 'Guy rides up to camp on a camel. He dismounts, takes his finger, runs it around the camel's rectum, and smears what's on his finger on his lips. The other guys ask why he did that. He replies "Chapped lips." They ask "So that cures chapped lips?" He says "No, but it sure keeps me from lickin' 'em."

Started dipping Copenhagen at 13. Somewhere around 45-50, I switched over to Skoal Long Cut. Did that and Copehangen pouches for some time. About five years ago, I transitioned over to Camel Snus Mellow pouches.
On a boat for ten nights and with all this COVID crapola taking place , I had plenty o' time to think about things. Haven't had a dip, beer or any caffeine for a week now. No urges either. Frankly, it was tougher when I transitioned over to the milder Camel Snus. I am thinking coming off the Snus product has made it easier for me. Hoping here I can maintain.it.
I thought dropping the beer would help me with the 20 pounds I want to get rid of. I have been watching what I eat. With the nicotine gone from the system, the expansion of the digestive tract has not helped me one bit. Evidently, more & more is getting digested. Do not worry, I will get there.

Good luck as well. I quit 5 months ago and the worst craving that I've had for snuff was about the end of the second month for about 2 days and it faded off. Dipped snuff for about 21 yrs. Heck of a vise to have and get rid of. Failed at it once before. Made it about 3 weeks and then back at it. Hopefully this time is for good and good luck to anyone trying to quit.

Still haven't had a dip. The only thing is I notice sometimes I have a small snack later in the evening. I never used to do this when I dipped. Not a big deal just gotta make sure I'm watching my calories!

Quit dipping 20 years ago and started eating, gained 40-50 pounds. Thinking about starting back up, maybe I’ll stop eating and drop the weight...
