Do it. Stop trying to put it on the schools.

There’s another 100 million dollar football stadium needing to be built!

No chit. My school taxes are going up again this year! For what??? They already got the $118,000,000 high school they wanted. I'm glad they didn't also get their $22,000,000 swimming pool for the 4 kids on the swim team.

22M dollar pool? That better be a bad [censored] pool it’s literally a hole in the ground.

It’s not just a hole that needs filled. Lots of pockets, too.

Public school system is the biggest form of socialism we have yet.
Never have a kid and you STILL pay school taxes until your 65. It’s BS.

It is socialism. But the fact that you can form a sentence proves it works.

Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.

The original charter school movement was meant to eliminate (originally) taxes being paid to public schools by form of a voucher that was used to offset your taxes and paid to the charter school. Not sure how that is working now if at all since it has been 10 years since my kids graduated. We home schooled through 6th grade and then enrolled them in a private school. Unfortunately many parents look at the schools as being daytime daycare due to both parents needing to work It is a tough situation any way you look at it.

K-12 is about learning and if you send them somewhere else (i.e. not homeschool) then it is also about daytime daycare. That said, I expect certain things when I pick babysitters, why wouldn't I expect that from teachers?

There is no "right" to an education, free or otherwise in the US Constitution. The many school systems were established by the states. .

There was also no income tax or any tax written into the constitution. What's your point?

I just heard one of the Austin ISDs now has some sort of diversity counselor. Oh boy. I thought they could use an English or Math counselor. What was I thinking?

I hate it, but the 16th ammendment says that there:

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
