Twice now, I have placed each feeder leg into a dry bag of 60lb ready-mix concrete or mortar then wet the bag with water to cure it. It definitely works. It keeps the feeder from turning over by livestock, hogs or wind and keeps the legs from sinking in the ground. However, its a pain if you decide to move the feeder in the future. I probably would not do it unless feeder legs are detachable. Dang hogs...

Some of the guys on our lease mount the barrel in the wye of live oak with straps. Works great! Some of the corn deflects off the tree and falls straight down but really not that much. Most of the corn is thrown out in a semi circle. Its fun to watch the deer root around the base of the tree too. The corn really ricochets off the tree.I always thought it would be fun to nail a peice of tin to the tree for better distance and noise but never have.
