I'm new to the forum and have hunted ducks and geese since I was around 11 or 12 years old and I need a spot to hunt near Victoria Texas for the 2020-2021 season, willing to drive about an hour.

Check Sniper John's Post on Public Hunting. Also plenty of outfitters in that area. Good luck!

There are a number of outfitters in the El Campo/Bay City area that can scratch your itch...

Thanks man but there isn't much for public hunting land around here, if you live in Dallas, Houston, Austin or San Antonio there's a lot, now the land near here that can be hunted you need a boat, like Matagorda island. The regulations on a lot of the public hunting land here are very restrictive, so if theres a spot im missing from all the websites I've checked then I'd love to go there. As far as outfitters... we want to hunt a regular spot, some place where we can go once a week at least.

Depending on your budget your best bet is probably a lease or hunt club.

Have you checked your PM's?
There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

For the cost of a lease, and with the limited time allow to hunt you could book trip each week with a guide and save money over the cost of a Duck lease and setting up a blind and planting food plots. Put a pen to it might open your eyes. PS Don't do this with your wife around she might not like what your spending for a few ducks
