So many people say things like, "its just the flu." How many of you witnessed something like this from the flu?

With the exception of work, where the liability fearsome rule.... nope.

We were in OKC last week, stayed in Bricktown, lots of good folks living their lives without fear.

The funny thing is how many people act like wearing mask is so hard to do. It’s not like someone is asking you to do push-ups. I’ll wear one to mainly protect other folks. I’m probably not at the risk demographic but I’d feel horrible if I got it and gave to someone at risk (parents, in-laws, co-workers, etc.....).

No, giving up rights for a false sense of security isn’t hard to do at all.

I’m still not up for it, though.

I was informed today that we will be required to wear them starting tomorrow at work. I have not worn one since all this started and did not intend to, but have no choice now if I want to continue earning a paycheck at my current employment. Outside of that, I will not wear one.

You probably think wearing a seatbelt in a vehicle or wearing a helmet on a motorcycle is a false sense of security too. Seriously wearing a mask is such a violation that you won’t do it even if there’s a 1% chance you could help stop the spread of this? I guess to each their own.

Making a decision on your own ideas to wear a mask is not giving up your rights. It is a decision based on what you think is is best.
I wear a seat belt because I think it smart. I do recall those screaming that their rights were being infringed with the seat belt laws of years past.
As long as doctors are wearing masks and it is working, I think that is a pretty good idea.
Even those that speak out (including doctors) that it doesn't make much difference I bet they will not go into a Covid ward without a mask.

I learned something today about glasses fogging. I was shown that with the fabric mask that loop behind your ear that if you give the loop one twist it makes the mask open slightly on the sides. That allows some of your exhausted air out there a instead of into your glasses.

I live way out in the country. I’m not wearing a mask unless I have to go where one is required. So far, I have avoided those places. Today I had to avoid Waco. So be it.

Sneaky is a friend of mine and I respect his decision. My wife has asthma and is a RN (retired, but keeps her license current! confused2 One daughter is an MD and treats Covid patients in downtown San Antonio. She is telling us to wear masks. The govenor says you should wear a mask. ("Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's...")

I spent a good portion of the day in San Angelo. I wore a mask into the cigar shop and Walmart. (I wasn't the only one at either stop.) I did not wear a mask into the John Deere dealer, Pepe's Cafe, or meeting Ramball36. Inconsistent I know, but hell, we're all trying to figure out what to do, and I'm quite certain we'll never know what was the right approach.

I don't think anyone that chooses to wear a mask at all times is fool. Nor do I think someone that never wears one is a fool. To quote the MD daughter - "Everyone's guessing."

I don't see the big deal with the whole wearing a 'mask' thing.

I wear one when sanding / shaping all sorts of materials, when grinding painted or rusty metals, sandblasting, grinding or sawing concrete, when cutting stone, rock, pavers or tile waterless.
I wear one in severe dust conditions like dry rock road work, around rock crushers, doing dirt work in dusty conditions using open station equipment, mowing with my ztr it throws more dust than grass clippings.
I wear one when doing anything with fiberglass from small repair work to insulation, and when spraying paints, stain, sealers. I wear one when mixing and or spraying various herbicides / pesticides.
I wear one when doing demo work like pulling old carpet removing walls & ceilings, using a jackhammer in an inclosed area or stripping vehicle interiors and any time there is evidence of past or present rodent/varmint invasion in inclosed spaces.

So wearing one when in close proximity to other people to protect them or myself isn't a big deal, to me.
Even if the level of protection is debatable, from little to none to just mediocre.

If you think it is an invasion of your rights, I support that.
I wear one when & where I feel necessary to do what I think best to prevent future respiratory illnesses, if there is an outside chance it helps with any other diseases, icing on the cake.

Doctors (and everyone on staff within 6 feet of a patient) are required to wear a mask as required by Texas Medical Board.

Many doctors think it is BU******. The TMB controls the their licenses.

I did just say that I don’t wear them, but if I was a doctor or anything associated with treating patients, of course I’d wear one.

I live out in the country and keep the gate closed mostly, and the gate is 200 yards from the front door.

It’s interesting that they talk about the spike in the number of cases, but what does that really mean? Nobody mentions what the death rate is or how many new patients are deathly ill. We are getting the data that they want us to get. This whole mask and personal space separation was to keep from flooding the intensive care units and having more people on ventilators than we can treat. Well...where are we on that? Nobody is screaming lately about having no ventilators or space in intensive care. I’d like to see that data. I used to see daily data on deaths, but Fox doesn’t show it now. I suspect, though I don’t know, that it is no longer scream-worthy.

And if I’m way wrong, I will admit it.

The good news is the Sahara Dust Storm should be here this week and there have been cases of West Nile Virus found in mosquitos in the Dallas area.

And so much of this debate is based on a few bold statements by only a few.
