Been doing quite a bit of metal cutting lately and rather than bringing to the shop at work, thought I might invest in a saw and need opinions from the brain trust here.
Band saw such as...https://www.homedepot.com/p/General-International-5-Amp-4-5-in-Stationary-Metal-Cutting-Band-Saw-with-Stand-BS5205/206347733?MERCH=REC-_-plpbrowse_multi-_-NA-_-206347733-_-N

Or a chop saw.

The band saw is what we have at work and it does fine. (Harbor Freight has the lesser expensive model than the one in the link)

Typical uses would be cutting: square tubing, angle iron, possibly fence posts

your typical use sounds like the job for a chop saw to me

A chop saw if quick, loud and dirty is ok with you. I dont have a shop, so that is what i use. When i get a shop built, though, i would like to have a band saw. Clean cut and not very loud.

For tubing and things like that I use this. Will never use an abrasive chop saw ever again. Good quality cold saw.

I had one of these, not as fast as a chop saw.

I disagree 100%. Much faster than a chop saw.

For sawing purposes, I haven't been sold yet on battery tools. Maybe I just need to invest in bigger amp hour batteries.

I have a very nice cold cut saw down in my cave that I will cut you a nice deal on. I used it for one project and shelved it. It’s either a Ridgid or a Milwaukee. Don’t remember.

I've got one of each. An older Mikita chop saw and a bandsaw like the one you posted. I use the bandsaw a lot more but I still use the chopsaw on occasion. If you go with a bandsaw, save yourself some money and buy one from Harbor Freight or Northern tool since they are all made in the same factory in China anyway. Get a bi-metal blade for the bandsaw, they will outlast the standard high speed steel blades by 3 to 4 times.

I have a Makita LC1230 chop saw, I probably got it in 2008 or so, it is durable, fast and accurate as far as a chop saw goes. My old abrasive blase is now reserved to hose cutting only. I also have a decent size horizontal band saw in the shop for bigger work. If I were to get one unit to do it all, the Makita LC 1230 would be the one I would have. I bought the guys at work a couple of the Evolution Chop Saws, they did not work out well.
