I load 100gr Speer BTSP with H4831 which is very accurate but more speed is available with H1000/Retumbo and some of the other newer powders.

110gr Accubonds in front of H1000 was my combination of choice when I had a 257 Wby

are the 110 and 115, 120 to heavy for 1-10 twist?

I shot a 120 interlock in my 25-06 700 C. This was a LONG time ago, bought the rifle from Hunter Bradlee on NW-HWY near Highland Park back in the day

I was young and didn't know how twist rate affected bullet performance.

Heavy / weight isn't the question, it is bullet length / bearing surface that effects twist rate efficiency.

TW and bullet it depends on the bullet like Rustler said. 110 Accubond, 115 or 120 Partition are great in the !:10 but you will loose a little BC with the 115 Berger Hunting vld. At least according to the Berger twist calculator. I know 110 Accubond is a good bullet for the 257

Buzz would be so much cooler with .257 Weatherby or any .25 caliber.

You going to have to really push the range and be at sea level to find the loss. I’m still sub MOA at 400 and still using listed BC. Infact been I while since I shot past that but I used posted BC and was having consistently up to 650 yard(scope maxed). So i would suspect it would have to be a poke past that and in denser coastal air.

115 Nosler Partition and near maximum load of IMR-7828.

3300 fps from a 26 inch barrel and straight line penetration through just about anything in the lower 48.

Please follow safe reloading practices.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

Man there is probably nothing I wouldn't do for my kids. But as the young adult making my way in this world i'd have to be dying before I asked.

kids are always low on funds. Like all, they spend to their limit. We, who have been there and are now flush, try to tell them but they are young and dumb. Then they get married, get a mortgage, have children. It never ends.

Yes, I have help my daughter , I'm embarassed to say how much but she's my girl, only child. I've enjoyed every minute and dime I've given her. I , only one child to spoil.

She will be married at the end of this month, the faucet will shut off and she will have to wait for me to croak, to get the rest.

PS , I have already booked our Father Daughter hunt with Mulie Mike. These hunting and fishing trips wont end till i do.

I feel like a better man when I’m afield with my .257 wby.

Tony Robbins ain’t got nothing on confidence boosting compared to Roy Weatherby

I’d be much more inclined to help my daughter financially than my two boys. Call it a double standard but it’s the way I feel, men should be more capable of making money than women.

My boys are 13 and 15 and as of yesterday I’m about to shut the faucet off on both of them save for the necessities

Oh he wouldn't either but I have a soft heart for him, his bride and my two lovely grand daughters.

I like a 100 gr matchking over 73 gr of imr 7828 in weatherby brass. I bought Hornady brass because it was cheaper and had to back it down to 68 gr, still runs 3525.

I found that 100gr TSX, Winchester Magnum primer & .5gr under max of RL22 gave me 3,550fps and hit deer like Thor's Hammer!
